TMS IN THE COMMUNITY

At TMS, Inc.  we understand that our long-term success is in large part linked to the health and vitality of our loyal customers and the communities in which we live and work. That’s why we’ve made it part of our mission to support innovative programs designed to serve the needs of our local community. Nonprofit donations and sponsorships are an integral part of our company’s philanthropic initiatives, because after all — strong communities and organizations are built upon strong foundations.

Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue

Noah’s Hope started rescuing Siouxland animals in 2007. They became a registered non-profit organization in 2010, and opened their Thrift Store at 26th and Myrtle to help support their work. Their all-volunteer group has always focused on underdogs. They rescue the dogs animal shelters consider hopeless: the old, the sick and injured, the used-up by breeders, the forsaken. They nurse them, bring them back from the brink, and give them another chance.

They educate against animal abuse; help rescue these abused and unwanted animals from being euthanized; provide proper veterinary care, plus spay and neuter; give them temporary homes; and work with other rescues to get these great animals forever homes with responsible people to share a high quality of life.

Miracle League of Sioux City

The Miracle League of Sioux City is a 501c3 that provides recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities.  We are governed by a Board of Directors and are a member of the National Miracle League organization.  Our facilities are open to all members of our community, but our Miracle friends are our priority. Located in the Riverside Park area, The Miracle League of Sioux City is the realization of a dream by many in our community.  The park includes a rubber surfaced baseball field, playground, splash pad, mini golf course, music park, walking path and a concession/restroom facility.  Phase One of the complex was completed on September 12, 2015 and our final phase was completed on October 16, 2016.

Feeding South Dakota

Feeding South Dakota is a hunger relief organization and fight daily to eliminate hunger in the state of South Dakota. In 2016, Feeding South Dakota as a whole distributed 13.5 million pounds of food in the fight against hunger. Their partnership with Feeding America provides them with access to millions of pounds of food product that is donated by corporations all across America. Every single week, Feeding South Dakota assists in providing temporary food assistance to approximately 21,000 hungry individuals and families in SD and their BackPack Program gives food every weekend to over 5,500 kids who otherwise might go hungry.

Teddy Bear Den

Since June of 1996 the Teddy Bear Den has inspired over 20,000 economically disadvantaged pregnant women in the Sioux Falls community to seek early and regular prenatal care. The entire program is geared toward the low-income pregnant women, pregnant immigrant women and pregnant teens as they are least likely to receive adequate care during pregnancy.

The Teddy Bear Den is a unique program in the city of Sioux Falls; there are no other programs that provide incentives or rewards to limited income pregnant women in exchange for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. One of the most unique features of the Den is the 265 health care providers, clinics, social service agencies, schools and treatment centers that collaborate to make referrals, stamp participant point books, and help to verify that our participants are maintaining a healthy lifestyle during their pregnancy.

TMS was able to “Sponsor a Mother” with our $300 donation to help with needs for the mother/baby until they are 15 months.

Adopt a Classroom

Gearing up towards Back to School season, TMS decided to “Adopt a Classroom” this year. Last week, TMS employees Mindy Lenz, Arla Schultz and Monica Rilling delivered notebooks, cleaning supplies and everyday necessities to two Early Childhood classrooms in the Sioux Falls area. We were also able to provide 70 children’s books to be given to each child as a gift around holiday season.
We are very grateful to play a small part in providing local teachers and children with the items they need to have a successful year of learning!
